Abstract
İnsanın hayat serüveni içerisinde belli dönemlerde bireyin konumunun değiştiği görülmekte ve bu değişimler belli geçiş dönemi törenleriyle ele alınmaktadır. Geçiş dönemleri üç önemli aşamadan meydana gelmektedir. Bunlar; doğum, düğün ve ölümdür. Üç evreden oluşan bu geçiş törenlerinde çeşitli tören, ayin vb. uygulamalarla geçiş dönemi törenleri yönetilmektedir. Yapılan törenlerin amacı insanın içinde bulunduğu yeni durumu kültürün kalıplarına göre kutlamak ve kutsamaktır. Geçiş dönemi ritüellerinden birisi olan düğün de hayatın bu önemli aşamasının bir takım ritüel ağlarla örülmüş olduğu görülmektedir. Karadeniz bölgesinde uygulanmakta olan şekerleme geleneği de bu ağlardan biridir. Artvin ve Rize illerinin çeşitli ilçelerinde yaşamakta olduğu bilinen Lazların; düğün, söz vs. gibi geçiş dönemlerini taçlandırmak için kullandıkları bir tür kurabiye olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Bu çalışmada şekerleme geleneği Karadeniz bölgesinde uygulanmakta olan şekerleme geleneği ele alınmıştır.

Abstract
It is seen that the status of their daily lives has changed throughout the history of humanity and this status is celebrated with some ceremonies. The transitional phase emerged from three important events. These are birth, wedding, and death. In these transition ceremonies consisting of three phases, transitional ceremonies are held with various ceremonies and rituals. The purpose of the ceremonies is to celebrate and bless the new status of man according to the culture to which it belongs. It has been determined that this important stage of life, which is one of the rituals of the transition period, continues with some traditions. The tradition of confectionery in the Black Sea region is one of these networks. The “şekerleme (confectionery)” is made by Lazish in some parts of Artvin and Rize provinces. It is seen that it is a type of cookie used by the Lazish in transitional ceremonies such as weddings and engagement ceremonies.
